Previously known as Gongniu Group, the company changed its English name to Goneo in 2023.
Ruan, a basketball fan, named the firm in honor of NBA Chicago Bulls former star Michael Jordan - with Gongniu translating to "bulls."
He cofounded Gongniu in 1995 with his younger brother Ruan Xueping, who is the company's vice chairman and also a billionaire.
Ruan started his career as an engineer in a local mechanical factory. He quit his job about a decade later to launch Gongniu.
