Rajendra Agarwal died in November 2025 at age 66.
Privately held Macleods Pharmaceuticals is among India's leading pharma firms. It produces generics for a range of diseases including asthma, osteoporosis and diabetes.
Her husband's older brothers, Girdharilal Bawri and Banwarilal Bawri, who are also billionaires, are chairman and joint managing director respectively.
The company was named after John Macleod, a Scottish doctor and author of medical textbooks.
The families of Anju Agarwal and her two brothers-in law live in the same building in Mumbai.
